Grand Canyon
I have visited the Grand Canyon twice in my life. The first and most memorable was on a road trip with friends I met whilst studying in America, in Missoula, Montana. That road trip represented a taste of adventure and a real sense of freedom. When I set eyes on the canyon for the first time, I was truly struck by the awe of the natural world. The sheer scale of what I could see was overwhelming and left a huge impression. I felt like I ‘experienced’ the view, rather than just looked at it. This body of work sought to contain the vast landscape into a series of small, ‘manageable’ squares, each representing a small piece of an experience that left such a huge impression on me.
